Above the common seats sit the noble boxes, draped in color and shadow, where silks stir in the breeze and jeweled eyes look down upon the field as if judging not only skill, but worth.
The air feels tense, hot, and expectant, as though the whole arena is holding its breath for the moment when the gates open and the next pair of riders come charging into glory.”
